Cereal Fiber ABS Composite

WYC-ABS PA7577015

Cereal Fiber ABS blends ABS with processed fiber from cereal stem straw, creating a light gray-beige material with fine, evenly distributed plant particles. The straw gives the surface a restrained grain pattern, while the ABS base supports rigid parts with defined edges and a solid hand feel. Molded products retain a technical appearance but gain more visual depth than plain plastic. Suitable applications include electronic accessory housings, desk organizers, storage trays, control knobs and decorative interior panels.

Usage Guidelines and Processing Notes

Material use

Use this ready-to-process compound directly, or blend it with compatible virgin ABS in any proportion to adjust the fiber concentration and molded appearance. Run a molding trial after changing the blend ratio.

Color matching

Color matching is supported. Because the natural base is light, most color families can be developed, although the plant particles remain visible and may shift the final shade. Confirm the target with a molded color sample.

Processing method

Injection molding.

Mold care

Use hardened, corrosion-resistant mold steel. Clean the mold promptly after processing, because plant-fiber composite material left in the tooling can corrode the mold if it is not removed in time.

Reference Processing Temperatures

StageReference setting
Drying80–90 °C for 4–5 h
Rear zone165–175 °C
Middle zone175–180 °C
Front zone180–200 °C
Nozzle180–200 °C
Mold60–90 °C

Important: These settings are starting references only. Adjust them for the machine, mold, part geometry and residence time. Excessive temperature or residence time can scorch or carbonize the plant fiber; begin at the lower end and increase only as needed.
